In the wake of the attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, the nation was plunged into a period of time where nothing was funny. Laughter was very scarce and making jokes seemed to be a "no-no". But what about those who make their living making people laugh? What were they to do in this time of grave seriousness?

Grant Baciocco of Throwing Toasters and Chris Mezzolesta of Power Salad decided there was something these artists could do and Funny Musicians For A Serious Cause was born. Grant & Chris put together Laughter Is A Powerful Weapon, a CD collection of songs from some of the top artists in the world of Comedy Music and all the proceeds would go to the Twin Towers Orphan Fund.

In March of 2004, Grant Baciocco put together A NIGHT FOR JAMIE a comedy music tribute to comedy music fan Jamie Levine who was taken from us in a plan crash. The event raised over $1000 for Animal Place, a charity that Jamie loved.

In September of 2005, Jean Prior came up with the idea of doing a charity album to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Funny Musicians lent support the project and Laughter Is A Powerful Weapon Vol. 2 was born.

Now, the organization is dedicated to try and bring a smile back to the country when it is faced with challenges. We hope you will join us in this cause.
